Overall objective:
|

Enhance the economic development of the CARDS countries through integration of their economies both at regional and the EU levels
-
Enable the CARDS countries to develop the quality infrastructure in the region towards the structures of the EU which will broaden the basis for mutual confidence between the countries in the region and the EU.

| Specific objectives: |

Develop the quality infrastructure in the region and the individual CARDS countries in line with the structures of the EU and in accordance with the WTO TBT and Sap/SAA requirements;

Strengthen mutual confidence and co-operatrion between the countries in the region as well as with the EU.

Project activities:

Assessment – expert assessment of state of structures, functioning and development needs concerning tehnical regulation, standardization, accreditation, testing - certification, inspection, metrology, market surveillance;

Establish co-operation – set up permanent co-operation committee; select 15 quality infrastructure facilities for joint use;

Awareness raising – 15 multi-country information sessions on EU system, including New Approach and Global Approach;

Joint „hands-on“ training – 19 training events of combined theretical introduction and Practical work in quality infrastructure institutions and laboratories.
