Born in 1950 in Studenci (near Imotski). Married, two children.

Education

1969. - 1973.

Study at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Zagreb University (today Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing)

 

Professional career

1974. - 1977.

R. Bošković Institute, assistant, work on the development of digital control systems and scientific projects of that time's OOUR Elektronika.

1977. - 1987.

INA – Naftaplin, work on designing, building and putting into operation production and technological facilities for production and transport of oil and gas and for gas refinement (ethane facility in Ivanić grad, gas transport system of INA – Naftaplin, gas system Podravina – Central gas station Molve I and Molve II and other smaller facilities within that system, building and reconstruction of a large number of gas and compressor stations, forwarding and gathering stations and building of the underground storehouse for gas in Okoli (PSP Okoli).

1987. - 1992.

ATM Company, designer, Head of department for automation in the process industry in OOUR Inženjering (later Engineering Sector), Director General of the Engineering Sector.

 

Designing automatic control systems for process facilities (petrochemical, chemical) and energetic facilities in the Republic of Croatia and other parts of ex-Yugoslavia and two petrochemical facilities in the petrochemical plant PCK Schwedt in ex-GDR.

1991. - 1992.

Member of the working group of the Ministry of Science and Technology that formed the concept of the scope and structure of the State Office for Standardization and Metrology.

1992. - 1995.

State Office for Standardization and Metrology, senior adviser in the Department for metrology.

Work on concept defining and establishing of the infrastructure in the field of metrology, especially metrological authorization and certification.

Member of the working group for drafting the Law on metrological activity, Law on the units of measurement and the Law on the surveillance of precious metals articles, passed by the Croatian Parliament in 1993.

Drafting of the first ordinances issued by the State Office for the purpose of implementation of the abovementioned laws.

1995. - 1996.

Ministry of science and technology, permanent undersecretary.

1996. - 2004.

State Office for Standardisation and Metrology, Head of Department of technical affairs, i.e. Department of informational and documentation affairs.

Organisation of information and informatics service of the State Office (building up a computer network, organisation of various data bases for the needs of the State Office, founding the information head office in the sense of the requirements from the WTO/TBT agreement of the World Trade Organization after the Republic of Croatia had become a member of the WTO).

Participation in drafting of the Law on standardisation, adopted by the Croatian Parliament in 1996.

2000. - 2004.

Work on the harmonisation of Croatian technical infrastructure (standardisation, metrology, accreditation and conformity assessment) with the corresponding infrastructure of the European Union in accordance with the obligations that the Republic of Croatia had taken over by signing the Stabilization and Association Agreement.

Drafting the most important documents from the field of harmonisation: Harmonisation strategies of technical legislation with the legislation of the European Union adopted by the Government of the Republic of Croatia at the beginning of 2003 and the Analysis of harmonisation of the existing technical legislation with the legislation of the European Union

2003.

Work with lawyers from the State Office and the experts from CARDS 2001 program on the preparation of texts of the Law on technical requirements for products and conformity assessment, Law on general safety of products, Law on standardisation and Law on accreditation issued by the Croatian Parliament in September 2003.
